The physician
Meet Dr. Zeena Nawas
MD, FAAD, FACMS. Triple board-certified dermatologist and Mohs micrographic surgeon.
Dr. Nawas trained first in internal medicine, serving as chief resident at UTHealth Houston. She then spent a year as a dermatology research fellow, completed her dermatology residency in the joint UTHealth Houston and MD Anderson Cancer Center program, and finished with a fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center. That path gives her a surgeon's knowledge of the structures beneath the skin, combined with a physician's view of the whole patient.
For six years she served on the faculty of Baylor College of Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Dermatology and Director of the Cosmetic and Laser Center. She has authored more than 25 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, served as an investigator on more than 30 clinical trials and was named a Houstonia Magazine Top Doctor in 2024 and again in 2026.

ZN Dermatology is a small cosmetic, laser, and surgical dermatology practice in Houston, owned and run by Dr. Nawas. It is not part of a hospital system, a national chain, or a private equity group. She opened it to practice on her own terms, and that decision shapes everything that follows.
Some days you will meet Dr. Nawas's children or another member of her family here. This is a family practice in the older sense of the phrase, and we love it that way.

The day is scheduled so that patients rarely overlap. The waiting room is calm, the office is private, and your time here is one-on-one with the doctor.

Dr. Nawas performs every procedure herself, from the consultation to the treatment to the follow-up visit. There is no nurse injector, no assistant, and nothing handed off along the way. The physician who plans your care is the one who delivers it, every time.

Dr. Nawas, as a Mohs surgeon, spent her career working beneath the surface of the face, not just on it. She knows where volume belongs and where it is lost with age. That is the difference between a face restored and a face filled.

Pricing & prescriptions
Straightforward, from the start.
Transparent pricing, published in advance
Most of what we do is cosmetic, and cosmetic care sits outside insurance no matter who provides it. Rather than let you discover the cost at the front desk, each procedure page on this site lists exactly what it costs, per unit, per syringe or per session.
- Your consultation confirms the plan and the exact total, and the number does not change afterward.
- No packages to sign, no memberships, and no bill arriving weeks later.
- Original Medicare is accepted for medical and surgical dermatology, and we provide itemized superbills you can submit to your own insurer.
Prescriptions, usually filled the same day
Many practices must first submit a prior authorization, asking your insurer to approve the medication your doctor has already chosen. It routinely takes days, and sometimes weeks.
- Dr. Nawas writes the prescription, and we show you how to fill it using a pharmacy discount program such as GoodRx or the manufacturer's own savings card.
- With one of those discounts, most of the medications we prescribe cost about $35, often less than a copay, and are ready the same day.
- If a medication is costly enough that this route does not make sense for you, we will walk you through the alternatives or submit a prior authorization with your insurer.
