Scope

This policy explains how ZN Dermatology, PLLC ("ZN Dermatology", "we" or "us") collects, uses and protects information when you visit znderm.com (the "Website"), and when you communicate with us electronically. It does not replace our Notice of Privacy Practices, which governs your protected health information; where the two overlap, the Notice of Privacy Practices controls. By using the Website you agree to this policy.

Information you give us

The Website itself does not ask you to create an account. You may choose to contact us by phone, email or text message, or to schedule an appointment through our online scheduling and patient portal, which are operated by our electronic health record vendor. Information you provide there, such as your name, contact details, date of birth and the reason for your visit, becomes part of your medical record and is protected under our Notice of Privacy Practices and the vendor's own privacy terms.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, ours may collect standard technical information when you visit: the pages you view, the time and length of your visit, the site that referred you, your browser and device type, and your IP address. We may use cookies or similar technologies and privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the Website is used and to improve it. This information does not identify you by name. You can refuse cookies in your browser settings; the Website will still work.

How we use information

• To respond to your calls, messages and appointment requests and to provide care.
• To send appointment confirmations, reminders and post-procedure check-ins by text, phone, email or portal message, with your consent where the law requires it.
• To operate, secure and improve the Website.
• To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights and the safety of our patients and staff.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We share information only with service providers who work on our behalf under contracts that restrict its use, such as our electronic health record and patient portal vendor, our website host, and our text messaging provider; with pathology laboratories, pharmacies and other providers involved in your care; when required by law or legal process; and to protect the rights, property or safety of ZN Dermatology, our patients or others.

Third-party services and links

The Website links to services we do not control, including online scheduling and the patient portal (Edvak), patient financing (Cherry), prescription coupons (GoodRx), maps and directions (Google and Apple), and video (YouTube). When you follow those links or apply for financing, the information you enter is collected by that company under its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to read. A financing application, for example, is submitted directly to Cherry, and we receive only the outcome needed to complete your visit.

Text messages

If you agree to receive text messages from us, we use your mobile number to send the messages described in our Text Messaging Terms. Your consent to receive texts, and your mobile number, are never shared with third parties for their marketing purposes. Reply STOP at any time to opt out.

Security

We protect information with administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity, and our clinical systems are designed to meet HIPAA requirements. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive medical details by ordinary email; use the patient portal instead.

Your choices and rights

• You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where the law does not require us to keep it. Medical records are kept for the period Texas law requires.
• You may opt out of text messages by replying STOP, and of email communications by using the unsubscribe link or contacting us.
• Texas residents have rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act to access, correct, delete and obtain a copy of personal data, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale of personal data and certain profiling. We do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising, and we will honor requests to exercise these rights.

Children

The Website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. Minors are welcome as patients when accompanied by a parent or guardian, and their information is handled under our Notice of Privacy Practices.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always posted here with its effective date. Effective date: October 6, 2026.
