GentleMax Pro
Alexandrite 755 nm and Nd:YAG 1064 nm laser
GentleMax Pro combines two wavelengths in one platform, so laser hair removal is safe and effective across the full range of skin tones. It also treats leg veins, sun spots and several medical conditions made worse by hair.
What it treats
Is this for you?
- Permanent hair reduction on the face, underarms, bikini, legs and back
- Ingrown hairs and razor bumps
- Hair removal for hidradenitis suppurativa and PCOS-related hirsutism
- Leg veins and facial veins
- Sun spots and age spots
- Cherry angiomas
How it works
What is actually happening.
Laser hair removal heats the pigment in a hair follicle enough to disable it during its growth phase, which is why a series is needed. The 755 nm alexandrite wavelength is strongly absorbed by pigment and suits lighter skin with fine or coarse dark hair. The 1064 nm Nd:YAG wavelength passes surface pigment and heats the follicle deeper, which makes it the safe choice for medium and deep skin tones. Dynamic cooling protects the surface with a burst of cryogen before every pulse.
The same wavelengths, at different settings, close small vessels and lift pigment, which is why the platform also treats leg veins and sun spots.

Your visit
What the appointment is like.
Patch test
For new patients and deeper skin tones, a small test area is treated first and checked.
Prepare
Shave the area the day before; do not wax or pluck for four weeks.
Treat
Goggles on. Each pulse feels like a warm snap with cold spray. A small area takes ten minutes, legs about an hour.
Repeat
About six sessions, four to eight weeks apart depending on the area, then touch-ups as needed.
Before and after your appointment
Simple preparation, simple recovery.
Before
- No sun, tanning or self-tanner on the area for four weeks; no waxing, plucking or threading for four weeks (shaving is fine).
- Tell Dr. Nawas about photosensitizing medications, isotretinoin in the past six months, or cold sores in the area.
- Arrive with the area shaved and free of lotion or deodorant.
Afterward
- Redness and slight swelling around the follicles for a few hours; a cool compress helps.
- Hair sheds over the following two to three weeks; do not pluck it.
- Daily mineral sunscreen on treated areas; no hot showers, saunas or exercise for 24 hours.

Good to know
Questions patients ask.
Is it really permanent?
After a series, most treated follicles are permanently disabled. Hormonal changes can wake new ones, so a touch-up every year or two is common.
Is it safe for darker skin?
Yes. The 1064 nm wavelength was designed for it, settings are adjusted, and a patch test comes first.
Does it hurt?
A warm snap with a puff of cold spray. Most people find it easier than waxing.

Next step
Ready when you are.
Permanent hair reduction that is safe for every skin tone, in a short series of sessions.
New to ZN Dermatology? Choose a consultation appointment: a test patch is standard for new patients and deeper skin tones, and the number of sessions depends on the hair and the area. The first full session usually follows at the next visit.
